Any Given Saturday. . .

So, Saturday came and went. Apparently, the upset was not to be. We came all around it, but alas, we fell just short, quite literally. I uploaded some pictures from the weekend. I tried to be smart and upload them all at once and then add the type afterwards. Good idea in theory, but the pictures uploaded in reverse order, and I refuse to take the time to change them.

Here's a quick look and a typical Saturday in the South

The fanstical, emotional, and famous "2001" entrance. I wish I could explain this to you. There is really nothing like it. One of my favorite parts of the game Saturday was between the third and fourth quarters. The Georgia band, as always, was blaring their fight song. I swear it must have been the extra long extended mix. They were all going crazy. Then from no where, you started to feel this rumble in the stadium. You weren't quite sure where it was coming from. At first I thought it was a plane overhead, but suddenly the familiar strains of "2001" blared through the speakers and the place went nuts. Literally nuts.

I have never heard Williams-Brice stadium so loud for so long as Saturday. There were times I thought I would be sick from screaming so loud. This fourth quarter moment was one of the best. We drowned out the entire Georgia band. I thought they had quit playing. It was truly a moment I will never forget.

Before the game, the cheerleaders and the band gets the crowd pumped up with traditional spirit songs. I admit that I have always had an inner band geek, and I love this music. It makes you feel like no other music in the world.

Here's a quick look at the crowd in Williams-Brice. This is just the east stands. I don't think you can comprehend the number of people in attendance. And these are just the people inside the game. Thousands more stay outside of the game and watch it on tv's powered by generators. People just want to be at the game surrounded by the magical environment. When people are out tailgating, they bring all kind of crazy stuff. This is a huge stuffed Cocky that attends many different Carolina athletic events in his custom bug.

This is me and my nephew. We're not even going to discuss that buckeye necklace he has on. He better have a good excuse. I'll let it slide this one time. We do not support the Big Ten.

A quick look at the traffic down Assembly before the game. Traffic is a complete standstill.
One of my favorite tailgating inventions is the motorized cooler. I think the picture speaks for itself.
A quick view of the Fairgrounds. The picture really doesn't do justice to all the tents every where. It looks like a tent town. I love the stadium in the background.

This makes me want to go to a game so badly! Thanks for sharing. Quite a heartbreaker Saturday was.

It was devestating. I really don't think I have ever been that upset after a game. I never gave up hope. I truly thought until the clock hit four zeroes we were going to pull it out to get to overtime. The Georgia fans knew they were lucky. They didn't have a thing to say.
