I put outfit together to wear to a vow renewal and 50th wedding anniversary celebration of a couple at my church (Read about it in my post "A Moment 50 Years In The Making). I wasn't sure what the appropriate attire was for the event, but I decided that 50 years of marriage was worth getting dressed up for, and to go with the great advice, "It is always better to be overdressed than underdressed," So this is what I came up with.
I love this dress. I got it with the tags still in it at Good Will for $4. It was originally about $80. It is beautiful and sleeveless. The weather did not allow sleeveless Saturday night, so I put on a long cardigan and belted it with a rhinestone belt, both from Cato.
I had already fixed my hair in a 40s inspired pin curl in the front; so I continued the 40s vibe in my "leg wear."
I fell in heart with these hose at Urban Outiftters in the fall. I love the look of the seam running down the back. I think it is retro and sassy. I especially love that these are nude with the black seam. Great contrast.
I have had these shoes forever. I got them at Target years ago. They are a practically perfect pair of shoes. The heels aren't too high. They are comfortable and have great style without being too loud. They look great with pants and dresses. They are awesome.
The earrings are from Forever 21. I got them the same weekend I got the hose from Urban outfitters. They are iridescent tear drop rhinestones with a gold looking vintage rose at the top. I love that they are sparkly and remind me of my earrings that I wore to prom in 9th grade. I also love they go with anything.
This is a very cost efficient outfit. Like I said, the dress was $4. I believe the cardigan was under $15. The belt was under $10. The earrings were sound $5. The shoes were about $20, and the hose were maybe $15ish. So total the outfit was $69ish.
My favorite thing about shopping is finding a bargain and putting together all sorts of randomness to make an entirely different outfit.
