Rain, Rain Go Away

A little yellow sunshiny sweater
and smile on this stank day.
UGH!!!! I am soooo over this rain.  When it rains for days and days like this, it is so evident to me why the Pacific Northwest has one of the highest suicide rates in the country.  I am not against rain in and of itself, but it has been raining, cold nasty rain, pretty much every day for a week.  Enough already.

Yesterday was parent/teacher conferences, and it was so cold in this building without the students in it I couldn't stand it.  I ultimately had to go get some coffee to try to warm myself up.  Apparently I drank too much and at 2:30 this morning I was still wide away.  I finally took something and drifted off to sleep at some point before three.  Of course I had morning duty this morning and had to be at school at 7:35.  Guess what time I woke up?  You guessed it 7:35 on the nose.  I NEVER EVER oversleep. (See what medicine to help you sleep does for you.) I called school and told them I was going to be late and it took me awhile to get up and going, but once I got going I was chipper as a little bird.

I am also over dressing for the cold AND the rain.  One or the other I can handle, but trying to figure out how to dress for both for over a week and look school appropriate is exhausting.  I don't know if I hit it out the ballpark today.  I might not have even connected for a base hit, but I promised since I decided to talk about my outfits, I was going to do it every day it is possible whether I liked them or they were special or not.  (I am not including Saturdays in this because normally on Saturdays I bum around the house in cotton shorts and a tshirt, and that is just not interesting.)

Anyway, today's outfit is real random.  It was built around the need to wear my rainboots this morning.  It was like Noah was coming with the ark today.  Therefore, I will start at the bottom and work up today.

Rainboots
Today's shoes are rubber, fur lined rainboots I got after Christmas at Target.  They were on sale, but I like them okay.  Full on rainboots don't like my calves.  The top of them are the exact same size as my calves so they just tend to create this one constant line of rubber and leg.  I normally prefer some nice rain shoes, but my awesome pair of houndstooth Sperry's I have had for years and years have seen their better days and have holes in the bottom, which kinda defeats the purpose of wearing them to keep the rain out.

I think boots are pretty cool.  I like the fur part and how the fold down.  The only thing that is a pain about them is that they are horrible, terribly horrible to get off.

I got my pants from Ross.  They are AMAZING.  They give the appearance of leggings, but they are pants in every sense of the word.  The button, zip, and have pockets.  They are so soft and comfortable.  I adore them. I would wear them pretty much every day if I could.

Where the outfit goes askew is the top part.

Random outfit for the rainy day.
I bought the sweater from this fabulous little consignment store in downtown Conway.  I really do love it but I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me.  I bought it because it is the perfect color of JHS gold, but today is the first time I have worn it, and I got it over Thanksgiving break.  It was $10, and it might have actually been on 50% off sale.

Flowers showing from my striped shirt
I bought the striped shirt years ago at Belk.  Again I got it at the end of the season clearance, so it was a steal.  I have never really enjoyed it as much as I thought I would.  It has never fit quite right.  Before I lost wait it was a little clingy, not tight by clingy, in the wrong places, and now it is a weird kinda baggy.  I bought it because I really wanted/"needed" a black and white striped shirt.  The best part of this one is that it has great little flowers on it at the neckline, and I liked that you can see them above the neckline of the sweater.

Any jewelry that was Jackie's
is the bomb.
My earrings are part of an awesome jewelry set that was my momma's.  It is an awesome 70stastic set of dangly, gold fabulousness.

So there you have it, my not so great, rainy day outfit.  It probably cost about $44.  I would say that is a good enough deal to put some sunshine in this cloudy day.  (You know you love my cheesiness.)
